Five places to celebrate Easter with the children

Take the kids to a range of child-friendly places across the capital

Galvin at Windows
22 Park Lane, W1 (020 7208 021, www.galvinatwindows.com)
There's a special Easter Sunday lunch menu at this eyrie with spectacular views over Hyde Park, priced at £58 for three courses including a glass of champagne. There is a children's menu, too, and toys that should keep them amused while you make the most of the "turbot with lobster mouselline, buttered clams and cauliflower purée".

Guerrilla Burgers
35 James Street, W1 (020 7486 1511, www.guerillaburgers.com)
This new restaurant is related to the child-pleasing chain of Giraffe eateries. Open on Easter Sunday, it will be dishing up better-than-average burgers; banoffee ice-cream sundaes; and strangely more-ish sweet potato fries. If the children get to choose a venue on Sunday, this is where you're going.

Polpo
41 Beak Street, W1 (020 7734 4479, www.polpo.co.uk)
This busy, fashionable restaurant prides itself on authentic Venetian dishes and will be opening on Easter Sunday. Expect classics such as Risi e bisi (salt cod with polenta) and other Easter favourites like Essi biscuits and Venetian fried custard.

The Restaurant at St Paul's
Wren Suite Carvery, St Paul's Cathedral, St Paul's Churchyard, EC4 (020 7248 2469)
Those who favour a traditional Easter day should book at the St Paul's Restaurant Carvery, which is taking over the Wren Suite on Sunday and Monday. We are promised an indoor meadow of daffodils, Simnel cake, hidden chocolate eggs and a roast lunch. £24 per person.

Roast
The Floral Hall, Borough Market, SE1 (020 7940 1300, www.roast-restaurant.com)
This busy restaurant is committed to British suppliers, slow roast pork belly from Wicks Farm and roast sirloin of Welsh Black with Yorkshire puddings. Admirably child-friendly high chairs, children's menu — what could be better on Easter Sunday than bananas and custard?
