A bustling and friendly restaurant on King Street with lots of staff and plenty of happy customers. The skewers from the grill are particularly fine, such as yakitori, pork with asparagus. Good sushi and tempura, too. £20pp excl drinks. (020 8748 0002)

Momo

This neighbourhood stalwart still gets the occasional puzzled caller looking for the North African Momo off Regent Street. Here they serve good sushi and sashimi to a knowledgeable local clientele. £25pp excl drinks. (020 8997 0206)
