TAS - full review
33 The Cut and 76 Borough High Street, SE1 (020 7928 1444, 020 7403 8557).
Tas's menu of well-executed Turkish grills and mezze is matched by the largely Turkish staff's delighted indulgence of small children.

Despite its more formal air - starched white tablecloths and besuited waiters - this excellent Lebanese chain is remarkably tolerant of small children. Shame there are no changing facilities, though.

NUMBER 22
22 Half Moon Lane, SE24 (020 7095 9922).

A local gem in south London, this Spanish restaurant serves a changing range of innovative tapas. Children welcome; try to bag a table in the courtyard at the back on a sunny day.

WAGAMAMA
Locations including 14 Irving Street, WC2 (020 7839 2323).

Not exactly a relaxing lunch, but the popular Japanese noodle chain caters for children with mini ramen and kids' ebi rice on the menu, as well as offering one-piece children's chopsticks.

THE BLUE ELEPHANT
3-6 Fulham Broadway, SW6 (020 7385 6595).

Serious Thai cuisine in a surrounding of lush plants and trickling fountains - not cheap but the perfect place to introduce your children to Thai food. On Sundays there is a popular buffet service with kids' face-painting.

LE CERCLE
1 Wilbraham Place, SW1 (020 7901 9999).

This smart French restaurant near Sloane Square offers children aged four to 11 a free "petits gourmets" selection of six tasting dishes from Tuesday to Saturday lunch, provided the child is with a dining adult.

LA FAMIGLIA
7 Langton Street, SW10 (0871 223 8038).

As its name suggests, this decent Tuscan restaurant is well known for its relaxed atmosphere and child-friendly waiting staff.
