If her new ad campaign is anything to go by, there's no question that Scarlett Johansson wins hands down in the sultry eyes department.
Keira Knightley was spotted earlier this month sporting some smoky shadows on her lids, and at Versace's autumn 2009 show models wore smouldering shades picked by make-up artist to the stars Pat McGrath.
McGrath created Scarlett's look using colours from Dolce & Gabbana's new Stromboli Quad (£35, www.selfridges.com) by “blending the top and bottom shades and through the creases to wrap them around the eye”.
For a more intense effect, Bobbi Brown recommends building up thick eyeliner (Long Wear Gel Liner in Granite, £15, www.bobbibrown.co.uk) with a dusting of grey shadow (Galaxy Long Wear Cream Shadow, £16). Lashings of black mascara go without saying.
