What The best of the best when it comes to vegan delights. As well as eating in the restaurant (which also offers an organic, biodynamic wine list), you can join raw food workshops, nutritional seminars and yoga classes.
Order Beetroot ravioli to start, and the Saf Bowl (parsnip rice, courgette-sesame noodles, shitake and avocado).
Cost £14 for two courses, without wine.
Best time to go Sunday lunch for the vegan roast.

What At this Swiss-owned restaurant you choose your meal from the hot and cold 'food boat' buffet and pay by weight (£1.80 per 100g at lunch, £2 per 100g at dinner). How to eat healthily if you're in a hurry.
Order Quinoa and vegetable salad and a red fitness juice (apple, fennel, lemon and blackcurrant).

What A friendly café with work by local artists hanging on the walls and a devilish selection of homemade cakes. It's a firm favourite with urban veggies in the evenings and mothers and babies at lunchtime.
Order Malaysian laksa (soup) or BCM (beans, cheddar and Marmite on toast), followed by a sticky ginger muffin.
