Bee Gee Robin Gibb could be about to increase Marylebone's celebrity count by moving into the fast-rising central-London enclave. With a past history of buying interesting properties (he used to own the spectacular Anchor Brewhouse at Shad Thames), it'll be interesting to see what he'll go for this time. He has told friends he'd like a piedàterre for up to £2 million in either Marylebone or Regent's Park, just a little place in which to live a couple of weeks a year. Local agents Kay and Co are hoping they'll find the perfect pad for the wandering warbler.
The Marquesa de Varela, best known as Hello! magazine's society fixer, has sold her five-bedroom house on the Peterborough estate, Fulham, for £1.6 million through Winkworth. But she is not deserting SW6 and has just bought a six-bedroom, Victorian terrace house for £1.25 million through Vanstons. "I intend to redesign it completely," says the canny Marquesa, who has more than doubled her money on previous London property deals. She also owns homes in her native Uruguay and Sotogrande, Spain.
The success of Aldo Zilli's Soho restaurants is bearing fruit. Signor Zilli is said to be looking for a tasty property within easy reach of his London restaurants, where he can keep a couple of horses. Hertfordshire is the chosen spot and estate agents are falling over themselves to find a suitable equestrian property for the ebullient Italian celebrity TV chef and writer who numbers Chris Evans among his pals.
If you're looking for a flat to rent in Wimbledon, you'd better hurry. Fulham Football Club's new signings have been snapping up all the best properties. The latest to rent there is French player Abdeslam Ouaddou and agent Robert Holmes and Co is still trying to find a home for his fellow Frenchman Sylvan Legwinski. The attraction? It's midway between their training ground at Motspur Park and Fulham FC's home ground at Craven Cottage.
Lesley Joseph, Patricia Hodge and Joanna Thaw are all alumni of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Now the fame school is packing up the greasepaint and moving from its premises on Cromwell Road, where it has been for 60 years, into larger premises on Talgarth Road, W14, formerly home to the Royal Ballet School. Farley and Co says the deal was worth £5.4 million.
Actress Lesley Vicarage, who played Kate Butler in the television series Soldier Soldier, is looking for a new home, far from a battle zone, in Crouch End. She has asked agent Tatlers to find her a two-bedroom garden flat. Such a cosy billet is likely to cost up to £300,000.
Victor Edelstein, creator of the dress that Diana, Princess of Wales wore for the Patrick Demarchelier photograph, is selling his Spanish villa in Gaucin for £425,000, through agents Robertson and Jermaux. The four-bedroom property has two reception rooms, a guest annexe and a pool. He and wife, Annamaria, will live in their Venice apartment. "I want a simpler life," he says.

There were huge cheers as the curtain came down, and rarely have they felt so poignant
