Nestled in the heart of Covent Garden, this welcoming restaurant serves delicious dishes with subtle but attentive service. Critically acclaimed Chef, Andrew Barber, has created an impressive menu that is most definitely worth sampling.
Hot dishes
For starters the Tempura of tiger prawns with coriander, garlic, ginger and chilli dressing is wonderfully flavoursome. The more adventurous might like to go for the saute of frogs legs with butter, garlic and parsley. For main course the pan fried fillet of seabass with aubergine and basil risotto is one of the many excellent fish options. Make sure you leave a little room for the exquisite white chocolate cheesecake with blackberries for pudding.
Drink Up
The wine list, artfully compiled to complement the food, is a work in progress and continually growing. With 500 wines currently on the list, and 40 available by the glass there's something to suit all tastes.
Ambience
Considering the quality of food and professional service, The Forge has a refreshingly sociable and informal atmosphere. The exposed brickwork and large arched windows add to the rustic warmth of the restaurant, creating an escape from the bustling streets of Covent Garden.
Where to find it
In the heart of Covent Garden, this restaurant is ideal for pre or post theatre diners. A far cry from the many tourist traps in the surrounding area.
Cheque Out
Starters range from £6-£9.50 with mains starting from £11.50. The Forge also has a pre or post Theatre, two-course set menu for £13.50 making it an easy choice for a great value meal.
