July 10 sees the renaissance of one of London's dwindling number of foodie street markets. Every Saturday between 9am and 4pm the Foodlovers Market will be setting up on Rupert Street, W1. The new market is the brainchild of Henrietta Green and Shane Holland and will consist of around 30 stalls including Hook & Sons (unpasteurised Jersey milk, cream and butter); Bring Home the Bacon (sausages, trotters, chaps and cheeks); and Fosse Meadow Farm (free-range chickens).

And the winners are...
Entries have just opened for the 2010 Food and Farming Awards (they are due to close at midnight on August 15). I have the pleasant task of judging two categories — Best Takeaway and a new award, Best Drink Producer. The winners will be announced in November and will be featured on Radio 4's The Food Programme and Farming Today. If you know a seriously good takeaway that deserves more recognition — we're looking for somewhere that serves freshly made meals using carefully sourced ingredients and provides good value for money — visit the website and make your case. Or perhaps there's a drinks producer — an inspirational brewer, wine maker, distiller or juice-maker — who deserves an accolade?

Pudding Power
Imagine a restaurant that just served puddings, and very classy puds at that. Renowned chocolatier William Curley has recently created a dessert bar in his Belgravia shop, open
from Wednesday to Sunday, 1pm- 6.30pm. The menu offers a “pre-dessert”, a choice of pudding à la carte (savarin aux framboises, glace vanille; mille-feuille au chocolat; forêt noire); followed by petits fours, all for £15.
