Down the cakehole: Scotch eggs
Evening Standard 8 Sep 2011Having started out rather by accident on Twitter, there is a competition fast gathering momentum in London.
On September 20, London's first #ScotchEggChallenge will take place at The Ship pub in Wandsworth from 7.30pm (theship.co.uk).
Scotch Eggs, judged by a panel including Scotch Eggspert David Constable and an undisclosed celebrity panellist, will be judged on smell, taste, texture and appearance, and each will be marked out of five, giving a total out of 20.
So if you think you have one on your menu worthy of winning, submit an egg to The Ship before September 15. Twenty-eight pubs have joined the event so far, but if you can't spot your favourite on the list, nominate it on Twitter via @ShipWandsworth.
