Down the cakehole: chocolate festival

Aside from Easter Sunday, the next three days is probably the only time anyone in London is allowed to eat their entire body weight in chocolate without any justification.

This is because the Chocolate Festival starts tomorrow, runs until Sunday and will be hosting about 50 of the top chocolate companies and chocolatiers in the country. There will be free cookery demonstrations - chocolate dim sum or jelly, anyone? - and master demonstrations from the big dogs like William Curley, Damian Allsop, Bill McCarrick and the Corrigan's Chris McGowan.

Christmas shoppers could fall back on a hot chocolate from Dark Fluid or a crushed diamond bar from Chocolate and Love. Failing that, if you can't be bothered with a whole festival, William Curley's pop-up, Chocolate Box, will be at St Martin's Lane hotel in Covent Garden until the New Year. Get down there for the Chocolate Sea Salt and Caramel tart.
