Cool 'n' the gang: winter style

As the cold snap continues it's tempting to let style go out of the window, but Emma McCarthy found many young Londoners still determined to raise the fashion temperature...

Max Anderson, 22
Senior sales assistant from Leyton, wearing Gant coat and trousers, Grenson shoes and a These Glory Days scarf. "My thick wool coat is doing a good job of keeping me warm but I'm used to the cold - I'm from Sweden."

Nadeka Mcogg, 22
Student and visual merchandiser from Streatham Vale, wearing an Oasis jacket and fur stole, H&M shirt, Topshop trousers and Nike Blazers. "The only way to stay warm is to stay in. But if I do venture out, I'm always in trainers so I can get around quick."

James Brackenburg, 23
International wholesale assistant at Vivienne Westwood from Tottenham, wearing Vivienne Westwood trousers, jacket and gloves, Uniqlo shirt, Ralph Lauren Purple Label tie and Dr Martens boots. "I'd have to say my style icon is Henry VIII and hands are my priority when keeping warm - if I lose them, I'm out of a job."

Alex Camilleri, 25
Creative advertising PA from Twickenham, wearing all vintage items bought on eBay. "I don't think I've set foot in a real shop for years. My vintage furs - of which I have lots - keep me warm."

Emma Grant, 28
Assistant buyer at Topshop from Stoke Newington, wearing an Army surplus shirt, vintage Levi's jacket, Topshop Boutique skirt and Topshop shoes.

Gareth Wragg, 33
Advertiser from Arsenal, wearing a Ben Sherman coat and shirt, River Island cardigan, Uniqlo jeans, Armani gloves and an Urban Outfitters hat. "I love this coat, I'll be sad when it gets warmer."

Gina Russell, 16
Fashion retail student from Fleet, wearing Topshop leggings, boots and bag with H&M jacket and snood. "I'm keeping warm with coffee and a lot of shopping - Topshop's always toasty."

Emma Shipley, 25
Designer from Buckinghamshire, wearing a Pyrus Cape, Village Green jumper, Cambridge Satchel Company bag and Levi's jeans. "I make scarves for my own label, Emma J Shipley."

Tracy Sada, 21
Stylist from Abbey Wood, wearing a H&M cape, Beyond Retro Army jacket, Topshop fur gilet and lace top, Levi's shorts and H&M hat. "When it comes to style, keeping warm is not a priority."

James Spillman, 27
Animator from north London, wearing a Harris Tweed jacket, River Island jumper and H&M jeans. "I'm relying on layers. I'm not a fashion snob - I'll shop anywhere as long as I like it."
