Feel good factor: Jo Malone Kohdo Night Treatment

Beauty powers: Every spring, Jo Malone launches its limited edition Kohdo collection in stores. Inspired by the ancient Japanese incense ceremony of Kohdo, it's all about fragrance combining. For day, there's the Lotus Blossom & Water Lily scent (designed to awaken and refresh the senses). For night, Dark Amber & Ginger Lily (mellow, sensual) calms and relaxes you. To accompany the collection, salons offer a day or evening massage treatment.
The process: After a frantic week, I opted for the night massage. In the sanctuary of the treatment room you change into a dressing gown and slippers, then lie on the bed. The therapist "sweeps" your back with Pomegranate Noir-infused hot mittens. Then you are given a relaxing, deep-tissue back massage to relieve tension and hydrate the skin. I could literally feel the knots around my shoulders being unfurled. Pomegranate Noir Body Crème is applied to legs and body, and a spritz of the Kohdo Night fragrance — Dark Amber & Ginger Lily — calms you down.
Any surprises: If you tend to think of Jo Malone as classic English label (darling, everyone has a bottle of their Lime Basil & Mandarin Cologne in their bathroom), the Japanese-inspired Kohdo collection is rather more adventurous and exotic.
Transformed? I slept incredibly well that night. And I've found that by spraying Dark Amber & Ginger Lily (with its top notes of black cardamon, pink pepper and ginger, plus base notes of black amber and patchouli) on my sheets at night, I can recapture that sensual, dreamy feeling.
Try it out: £65/45 minutes (including 15-minute consultation) throughout April and May. Available at Jo Malone, 150 Sloane Street, SW1, 0870 192 5121; and 23 Brook Street, W1, 0870 192 5181. (www.jomalone.co.uk)
