Camden cannoli
09 February 2012
It's another pop-up but this week it involves the Italian version of the English ginger snap with cream: the Sicilian cannolo. If you haven't come across this before, it's a round hollow tube of thick, sweet pastry stuffed with sweet ricotta cream which originated as a carnival treat in Palermo.
From Saturday until Tuesday, The Foundry in Camden is serving cannoli alongside its own flavours such as orange, pistachio, or chocolate chilli made with fresh chilli peppers grown out the back.
If you don't fancy a takeaway, sit inside and have one with some sweet dessert wine, or coffee with beans roasted next door by George at the independent Camden Coffee House.
The Foundry, 3-7 Delancey Street, NW1 (020 7387 5959, foundrycamden.co.uk)
