Five foods, one box

As time-pressed Londoners, most of us struggle to keep our grocery lists up-to-date, let alone visit a food market every month. But for those who wish they did there's a great new monthly subscription service launched by LoveYourLarder.com.

Once you've signed up online a little cardboard box will arrive on your desk or doorstep with five new food products for you to try each month. There might be anything from gourmet popcorn to fruit-infused vinegars, chilli brownies or blueberry and pear pork pie - and there's always one sweet thing included.

It's not cheap (£99 for six months) but the idea is that you can try things you wouldn't normally take the time to discover in the supermarket and you'll be supporting small businesses in the process.

@loveyourlarder tweeted yesterday that they'd put an extra present in the February boxes - so it sounds like now is the time to check it out.
