Feel good factor: The Su-Man Hsu facial
20 October 2010
Beauty powers: Claims to make your face "come alive" with an in-depth massage-led facial that goes from halfway down your back up to the insides of your eye sockets. All subtle-smelling botanical products come from Taiwan, whereSu-man lived (in a mud hut) until she was 12. She hopes to launch her own product range soon and a long list of clients, including actress Juliette Binoche and writer Tony Parsons, trek up to the Crouch End cosy garden spa of this Taiwanese mother of two.
Any surprises? The strength of this tiny former dancer. When she finds a knotted muscle, she doesn't let go. Having assessed me as "tired", she got to work on my upper skeletal structure, in between copious applications of hot lavender towels and a thorough cleanse, extraction and mask routine.
Transformed? At the end of the 90-minute session, Su-Man offers you a mirror to study her work. Her efforts have miraculously paid off. Although she has clients coming to her from as far away as Sweden, she tells me she has yet to see a Crouch Ender. At just £100 for an hour-and-a-half's hard graft, you would be pushed to find a better value facial in such zen surroundings. North London, you don't know what you are missing.
Try it out: £100 for 90 minutes, ring 07779 151346 or contact su-man@blueyonder.co.uk
