Feelgood factor: Gielly Green's cold-soothing massage

The process: In truth my cold was on its last legs but I had been stuck next to a smelly man on the Underground so the essential oils not only cleared my tubes but blanked that memory as well.
Eucalyptus, peppermint, pine and tea tree unclog the lungs and ease muscle pain and headaches, and rose quartz crystals cool and ease congested sinuses and stimulate lymphatic drainage.
I lay under a warmed blanket infused with essential oils on a heated massage bed while more oils were steamed into the air. Julie worked on my back and legs first, then I turned over and she used the rose quartz crystals on my face.
Next, she tackled the many aches and pains in my arms and legs and finally massaged my chest, shoulders, neck, face and scalp.
Any surprises? When Julie put the rose quartz crystals on my face, my (usually clenched) jaws completely relaxed.
And thanks to the darkened room and warm towels, when I turned on to my back and she altered the bed to raise my legs and upper torso a little, I felt as if I'd crawled back into the womb. Bliss.
Transformed? Completely. I felt floaty and relaxed and my cold-induced asthma felt quieted.
Try it out: £100 for 90 mins (discount for Evening Standard readers), 42-44 George Street, W1 (020 7034 3060, www.giellygreen.co.uk).
