Albert Hammond of The Strokes goes solo with an iTunes exclusive while Jamelia's comeback single, Something About You, gets a first showing at online stores. David Smyth highlights the best music the web has to offer.
TRACK OF THE WEEK
Albert Hammond Jr, Everyone Gets a Star
After a mixed response to his band's last album, the Strokes guitarist is going it alone for a while, launching a solo album with an iTunes exclusive on Monday. It's an understated track that could easily pass as a Strokes song, and while Hammond's voice is unremarkable, his guitarwork remains impeccable.
THE BUZZ
Jet
The staunchly macho Australians return with the suitably strutting rocker Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is. Singer Nic Cester may start proceedings with a surprisingly girly falsetto, but he's soon screaming away with familiar venom. It's on Napster now, a few weeks ahead of its full release.
THE SITE
Viagogo
Ticket touts are despised even more than usual during the festival season, but this website is a useful alternative to an argument with a money-grabbing mercenary. Viagogo sells spare tickets for concerts, theatre and sports events and guarantees you receive them in good time. They go at more than face value, but at least you know what you're getting.

WEB EXCLUSIVE
Jamelia
Britain's Beyoncé is back with a new album at the end of the month, which has the unenviable task of following on from 2004's huge hit Thank You. The comeback single, Something About You, goes for a guitar-led approach for a change and is available in the major download stores.
