You might not know who Sandy Rivera is, but you will definitely know his 2002 house crossover anthem, Finally. That, along with the Shapeshifters' Lola's Theme, was one of the most seminal records to break out of clubland and onto daytime radio and enter the national consciousness. Rivera's going to strut his slinky soulful house for six hours at Blackwiz and also showcase the signings to his record label, of the same name, with a PA from Hadar. Britain's own champion of vocal, uplifting house, Jimpster (of The Bays) and his Freerange Records label will take over room two.

After producing style mag Vice's Tales Of The Jackalope summer festival, My Beautiful City, the thinking London hedonist's fave promoters, host their second Electronic Summer Ball. A Shoreditch warehouse will be taken over by gobby West Londoner Lily Allen, Kompakt Records' enchanting electronica producer Matias Aguayo and the freakshow that is self-proclaimed 'rap Morrissey', Akira The Don. Equally enticing is a DJ set from 2005's dance crossover success story, Mylo.

Bar Rumba, one of the West End's few cheese-free nightclubs, has taken over what was Substation South in Brixton. Reopening this weekend as the Annexe, it's an intimate venue (with a few hundred capacity) that's nevertheless going to feature big names such as Parisian DJ Deep, with warm funky house, who guests tomorrow at regular Friday nighter Substance with support from residents Jafar (Kwaito Recordings/Neighbourhood) and Trevor Fung. Saturday sees the drum'n'bass massive take over with Marcus Intalex and Bryan Gee headlining.
