In the first of what it hopes will be an annual festival to complement the classical Proms, the BBC's Electric Proms aims to persuade a wide cross-section of contemporary musicians, young and old, to try something a bit different over five nights across Camden.
So there are arena-fillers Jamiroquai revisiting their early days with a set of old material in the tiny Jazz Cafè (Wednesday), James Brown foregoing his usual funk workout for a more jazzy set (Roundhouse, Friday) and Kasabian attempting to lift themselves from loutishness by playing with the BBC Concert Orchestra (Roundhouse, Saturday). A series of music films will add even more variety to a long weekend that can also be experienced on TV, radio and the internet. Here are five highlights:
THE WHO
