Brian Wilson
Adelphi Theatre, WC2
He reduced grown men to tears when he first did this in 2002. Now here comes an even more moving occasion, when the damaged Beach Boys genius returns to perform Pet Sounds in full for what he promises will be the last ever time. Sell everything you own to get a ticket. (0870 4030303). Sun 12 Nov, 7pm.
Lucinda Williams
Shepherd's Bush Empire, W12
These originally postponed shows finally come around again for the late blooming singer-songwriter, who has only earned an impressive level of acclaim in her fifties. Magnificent albums such as World Without Tears and Car Wheels on a Gravel Road have eventually prompted the public to warm to her bruised country rock, and not before time. (0870 771 2000). Fri 10, Sat 11 Nov, 7pm.
My Chemical Romance
Brixton Academy, SW9
Thanks in no small part to this New Jersey quintet, emo has become more than a teenager-friendly rock sound that no one can define, and is now a serious commercial proposition. Their third album, The Black Parade, is currently selling at a dizzying pace, and the band have already booked a Wembley show for March if you can't get in here. (0870 771 2000). Sun 12 Nov, 7pm.
Bruce Springsteen
Wembley Arena, HA9
The Boss continues to tour with his current jug band, an accomplished collection of fiddlers and horn players who ably bring to life the old-time sounds of Fifites folk singer Pete Seegers. He'll throw in the odd classic of his own, but these shows are really about honouring the music of one of his heroes. (0870 060 0870). Sat 11, Sun 12 Nov, 7pm.
Paul Simon
Wembley Arena, HA9
Last seen making up with Art Garfunkel in front of 50,000 fans in Hyde Park, now Paul Simon is back to the day job, promoting a fine new solo album, Surprise, that producer Brian Eno has filled with subtle shimmering sound effects. In concert his five-piece band makes a more straightforward noise, although everything from Sixties pop to African funk should make an appeaance here. (0870 060 0870). Tonight, 7pm.
