Electropop sextet CSS play their biggest London show, there's an impressive line-up for Xfm's Winter Wonderland and Morrissey continues his resurgence at Wembley...
CSS
Forum, NW5
It's the biggest London show yet for this electropop sextet, who have been scratching an itch for sex-obsessed Brazilian disco punk that most people didn't even know they had. They've just earned the NME's blessing with a slot on one of the magazine's new band tours, so expect even bigger things in 2007. (0870 534 4444). Tonight, 7.30pm.
Xfm's Winter Wonderland
Brixton Academy, SW9
The radio station's annual indie extravaganza, which takes place in aid of Shelter, features an impressive number of this year's success stories all on the same bill. Between 6pm and bedtime there'll be sets from Captain, Just Jack, Boy Kill Boy, the Automatic, The Feeling, The Kooks, Tenacious D and Kasabian. Not bad for a night's work. (0870 771 2000). Sat 9 Dec, 7pm.
The Game
Hammersmith Palais, W6
LA rapper and ex-gang member who could fall out with his own shadow, hence the absence of former collaborators such as Dr Dre and 50 Cent on recent album Doctor's Advocate. A US number one, it was less successful over here, so now's his chance to win back some British fans. (0870 154 4040). Tonight, 7.30pm.
Morrissey
Wembley Arena
The idiosyncratic icon's recent resurgence continues with this arena show in support of this year's number one album Ringleader of the Tormentors, his second well-received long player after a long period of irrelevance. Ever the showman, he's likely to throw in some Smiths tunes too – who could resist? (0870 060 0870). Tonight, 6.30pm.
Lostprophets
Hammersmith Apollo, W6
The hard rocking six-piece may hail from Pontypridd but their angsty, child-friendly metal couldn't sound more American, a fact which explains their global success. This show precedes a much bigger Wembley date in April. (0870 400 0700). Sat 9 Dec, 7.30pm.
Tonight:
