NYE at Mahiki
Mahiki, W1
This new Hawaiian-themed hangout may attract party poshos like Freddy Windsor and Tom Parker-Bowles (whom I spotted there a couple of weeks ago), but it doesn't feel intimidatingly exclusive. (020 7493 9529). 9pm-4am, £40.

Horse Meat Disco
South Central, SE11
Despite its unnerving moniker, HMD isn't like the Blue Oyster Bar in the Police Academy movies, where everyone is forced to waltz with beefy, leather-clad gay men ) although that could probably be arranged. It's a friendly, trendy inclusive gay party with a daft, debauched atmosphere at which all free-spirited lovers of quality house music are welcome. Severino and Filthy Luka are among tonight's providers of quality Italian-tinged house. (020 7793 0903). 10pm-4am, £10.
