30 gigs in one day as band bids for record

Anna Davis, Evening Standard

An up-and-coming London band will perform 30 gigs in one day in a bid to set a world record.

Buck Brothers, whose fans include Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe, will race between venues in Camden, Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square and Covent Garden to make it into the record books.

The three-piece punk-pop outfit from Hackney are aiming to break the current record of 26 gigs in one day, set by German band Kansas City in Hamburg just over two years ago.

Singer Andy Duke said: "We want to put London in the record books. It is one of the few places where this is logistically possible because there are so many venues close together.

"The idea is to do something fun and to mark the release of our album. We want to get noticed but if we fail we will be the Eddie the Eagles of rock."

The attempt will take place on Monday 5 March.
