A memorial concert for Londoners killed in stabbings and shootings will be held tonight.
Surrendering Beats, part of the Festival of Youth Arts, will be held at the Carling Academy in Islington from 7pm.
The concert was organised in the wake of a series of gun and knife attacks in the capital.
The London Breakbeat Orchestra will perform alongside upcoming hip hop star Genesis Elijah, trip hoppers Ocarina and other grime, indie and breakbeat artists.
There will also be live performances from VJs - video jockeys - who will mix film live in a freestyle one-off set. pokesman Jag Singh said: "The event is a tribute to all the victims of gun and knife crime, including Damilola Taylor, Emmanuel Odunewu and all the other victims over recent months. The festival is about making a stand against all the violence ... making a stand to show solidarity through creativity."
Trevor Blackman, the event's creative director, said: "All the young people I have spoken to about knife and gun crime have said 'not in my name'."
Everyone at the 800-strong event for young people over the age of 14 will sign a pledge never to carry a gun or knife.
