            Gwen Stefani

Peroxide pin-up: Gwen Stefani brings her solo show to London at last

Look here too

Gwen Stefani brings her geisha girls to Wembley Arena, while Modfather Paul Weller plays Astoria in the weekend's top gigs.

Gwen Stefani
Wembley Arena, HA9

The one-time No Doubt singer and peroxide pin-up brings her solo tour to London for the first time, a theatrical riot of policemen, geisha girls and schoolgirls that will also feature some of the finest pop tunes of recent years. (0870 060 0870) Friday, Saturday, 6.30pm.

PJ Harvey
Royal Festival Hall, SE1

It's time for another departure for the endlessly creative Yeovil singer, who seems to have got the rough-edged guitars out of her system on 2004's Uh Huh Her, and returns with a new album, White Chalk, sitting at the piano and singing mostly in an eerie falsetto. Playing this gig completely solo, there'll be some guitar work and old favourites, too, but all delivered in the most stripped-down way possible. (0871 663 2500) Saturday, 7.30pm.

Joanna Newsom
Royal Albert Hall, SW7

Not the first harpist to appear at the Albert Hall, but certainly the weirdest. Joanna Newsom's epic poetic songs have almost nothing in common with the work of any musician working today, and as a result she's had the critical fraternity frothing for some time and has now reached an audience big enough to fill this impressive space. (020 7589 8212) Friday, 7pm.

Juliette & The Licks
Indigo, SE10

Proving she's not just another Hollywood actress with an expensive singing hobby, Juliette Lewis still dedicates far more time to her rock band than appearing in films. She's appearing in Docklands promoting a second Licks album, Four on the Floor. (0844 844 0002) Sunday, 7pm.

Paul Weller
Astoria, WC2
The Modfather tops the bill on a night of acoustic music in aid of Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy. Other acts include Tim Burgess of the Charlatans, Candie Payne and Ocean Colour Scene. (020 8963 0940) Sunday, 7pm.
