Tickets for the Spice Girls' London reunion sold out in 38 seconds today.

The 20,000 seats for the concert at the 02 Arena on 15 December went in record time. Promoters have now announced two more dates, 16 and 18 December, with more to follow.

The Spice Girls will start their global tour in the US on 7 December, nearly 10 years after they last performed together.

Fans were asked to register when the tour was announced this summer, with more than one million applying in Britain alone. Today 20,000 people were picked at random for the London concert and emailed with the news. All accepted in just over half a minute.

At their peak the Spice Girls sold more than 55 million records. Geri Halliwell left the band in 1998 and the remaining four, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm and Victoria Beckham, disbanded in 2001.
