Strictly song aims to beat X Factor single
Louise Jury, Evening Standard17 Dec 2007
The theme tune to TV's Strictly Come Dancing is released as a single today in a bid to become the Christmas No 1.
Dan McGrath, formerly Chris Evans's sidekick on his radio shows, and Josh Phillips, who played keyboards for Midge Ure and Procol Harum, have released Let's Go Dancing as an iTunes download in response to demand from fans. The track is sung by Carol Kenyon.
McGrath, 41, and Phillips, 45, teamed up five years ago to write the theme tunes to shows including BBC1's Friday Night With Jonathan Ross.
William Hill has installed them in fourth place with odds of 10-1. But the hot favourites remain X Factor winner Leon Jackson and Leona Lewis's single Bleeding Love.
The Eva Cassidy and Katie Melua charity single, What A Wonderful World, is also attracting strong betting at 16-1.
No 1 contenders
Leon Jackson - When You Believe - 1/6
Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love - 6/1
Sugababes - Change - 10/1
Strictly Come Dancing - Let's Go Dancing - 10/1
Eva Cassidy and Katie Melua - What A Wonderful World - 16/1
