Plans by DJ Fatboy Slim to stage a music party this summer on Brighton beach have been given the go-ahead.
Proposals for the fourth Big Beach Boutique party were approved by Brighton and Hove City Council.
The concert is set to run over two nights between Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27 between 5pm and 9.30pm and will cater for crowds of up to 22,000 per night.
Fatboy Slim will top the bill on one night and other artists are expected to feature on the other night.
Promoter Loudsound Events was granted consent to stage the party providing it meets the costs of all the recommended safety and operational measures.
The ticket-only party will take place on Madeira Drive, not the pebbled beach and will be fenced off to control numbers.
Residents with a Brighton postcode will be given first chance to buy tickets.
In July 2002 an estimated 250,000 revellers - thousands more than expected - turned up to a party on the beach hosted by Fatboy Slim.
One man died of a heart attack and a woman fell to her death during the free beach party.
Otherwise known as Norman Cook, the Hove-based DJ began his career as a bass player for the Housemartins.
He later became known for edgy remixes such as Brimful of Asha which topped the UK charts in 1998.
His hit album You've Come A Long Way Baby brought him critical and commercial success.
