Madonna: I still get gripped by fear on stage
Valentine Low, Evening Standard11 Mar 2008
As Madonna was inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the world's most successful female musician admitted today that she suffers from panic attacks on stage.
Madonna - normally a byword for brash self-confidence - confessed that when performing she can be gripped with fear. The rare moment of public introspection came as the singer, who will be 50 in August, was inducted into the hall of fame in New York by Justin Timberlake, who has co-written and co-produced half the songs on her new album Hard Candy, which is released next month. "Nobody has gotten into the hall of fame looking this damn fine," he said. "You're no old museum piece."
Madonna spoke of her panic attacks in an interview with Jefferson Hack for Dazed & Confused. "I have moments where I feel incredibly invincible and know I have the audience in my hand ... then I have panic attacks, where I feel like everyone is breathing my air and I cannot live up to everybody's expectations, and I might just die on stage."

If seen Madonna's speech, and she's as arrogant as ever. She lied when she insinuated that her ex-manager left Michael Jackson in 1983 to be her manager. The fact is Michael Jackson decided not to renew his contract with DeMann in early 1983 before he even met Madonna.
Madonna may be a huge artists (product in my opinion) and icon to many. But to me she was and will always be an overrated talent, who uses other people to create songs she claims to have written, etc.
