Her personal life may be a worry but Amy Winehouse's career is still acknowledged as knockout.
The singer is today nominated for three prestigious Ivor Novello Awards for songwriting.
She has two compositions in the running for best song musically and lyrically — Love Is A Losing Game and You Know I'm No Good.
The other song nominated in this category is Let Me Out by Jamie Hartman, frontman of the London band Ben's Brother, written with Rosi Golan. Winehouse's Rehab was also nominated in the bestselling British song category, after being named best contemporary song at last year's awards.
Her rivals in the best-seller slot are Mika for the chart-topping Grace Kelly and the writers behind Beyoncé and Shakira's hit Beautiful Liar. They include 33-year-old Amanda Ghost, of Ladbroke Grove, who has already won two Ivors for James Blunt's You're Beautiful. Other nominees include Kate Nash, for Foundations, Klaxons for Golden Skans, Kaiser Chiefs for Ruby, and Take That for their comeback song Shine.
The album award is a David and Goliath battle between Radiohead, for In Rainbows, and the highlyregarded singer-songwriter Stephen Fretwell with Man On The Roof. The third contender is Thirst For Romance by Bolton indie band Cherry Ghost. The awards will be presented on 22 May.
