There are few live acts that compare to the Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl is an impressive frontman and with the backing of Nate Mandell, Chris Shiflett and Taylor Hawkins (here's hoping he does one of his drum solos) this band can't go far wrong.
2008 has already been highly successful for the Foos, seeing them take home two Brits and two Grammys. Their sixth studio album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace shot to the top of the UK charts with the biggest first-week sales by any International artist this year. Playing Wembley stadium for two nights, this is one not to be missed.
FUNK 'N'STEIN

Fresh from international shows, the award winning Israeli soul and funk group Funk'N'Stein, who are getting plenty of airplay on UK radio, come to London for two highly anticipated gigs at the Pigalle. Performing with an eight-piece band, Funk'N'Stein are sure to entertain.

They have supported the likes of The Kaiser Chiefs and Dirty Pretty Things but The Pigeon Detectives' London date is all about them. They can count Jo Whiley and Steve Lamacq amongst fans but expect the crowd to be dominated by indie kids with quirky haircuts.

Swedish pop singer Robyn was known in the 90s for her dance-pop hits like Show Me Love. Things got a little quiet for a few years until she came back on the scene with a cooler image and bigger fan base. She was one of the most popular acts on the Camden Crawl this year and is now set to play the Astoria.

I have today received articles sent to me by my sister from the evening standard of 4/6/08 re the Springsteen gigs at the Emirates. I was appalled by the article from the so called journalist and his view of the geriatric audience as he called it! He has to remember unlike some of the "15 minute" wonder bands du jour Springsteen is a true showman and he still manages to fill stadiums like the Emirates with 60 000 fans of all ages! His music has changed and evolved like the man- his fans too have grown with him and age is a sign of maturity and having lived and enjoyed life which does not sound like something the journalist who wrote the article would know about! The concert was 3 hours of sheer enjoyment and I for one 40 something from the North had a great time and will continue to be the fan I have been for 27 years!!
