The lowdown on the best live music in London this weekend...
REM
Where: Twickenham
When: Saturday
Tickets: £45
www.remhq.com
After a somewhat mediocre spell, REM's most recent album, Accelerate, was a welcome return to form. Michael Stipe, right, and Co are mostly known for their early Nineties pioneering albums Out of Time and Automatic for the People, with the enduring tracks Losing My Religion, Shiny Happy People, Man in the Moon and the melancholic Everybody Hurts. Accelerate, the band's 14th album, features Stipe's unique and passionate vocals at their very best and Peter Buck's guitar on tracks such as Living Well Is the Best Revenge, the folkish Houston and the punchy and amusing I'm Gonna DJ. The Editors and Fyfe Dangerfield's
eccentric popsters, Guillemots, support.
CHEMICAL BROTHERS
Where: Kensington Olympia
When: Saturday
Tickets: £30

The Chemical Brothers aren't Grammy Award winners for no reason. Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons are a force to be reckoned with as far as electro music is concerned. They will take of Kensington Olympia on Saturday.
JOHNNY CLEGG
Where: The Forum
When: Friday
Tickets: £25
www.johnnyclegg.com
Johnny Clegg will bring his sound to the Forum. Sometimes called Le Zoulou Blanc (The White Zulu), he is an important figure in South African pop music history, with songs that mix Zulu and English lyrics, and African, European, and Celtic music styles. Definitely worth checking out.
BIG COMEDY GIG
PIMM'S SUMMERFEST
Where: Holland Park
When: Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Tickets: £25
Pimm's Summerfest continues this weekend. The star-studded line-up of performers has taken over the canopied 1200 seat open-sided Theatre at Holland Park for nights of hilarity, picnics and conviviality. Jeremy Hardy, Jo Brand and Rhona Cameron are amongst highlights. Don't miss out.
