Not yet a name synonymous with Melbourne like soap opera Neighbours, out-there six-piece AIH deserve to be the next big thing from Down Under after their show last night.
A cavalcade of fun, AIH took it in turns to hit cowbells, play trombone, strum guitar, worry bongos, smash drum machines and tweak laptops to the point of death and yet still produced one joyful mash-up of wondrously catchy, danceable noise laced with musical twists and turns that sounded like no one else playing live today.
Couple that with the commanding presence of eccentric frontman Cameron and add a vital element of danceability and you have a scintillatingly potent combination. As well as sharing the goahead "anything goes" musical mosaic of the Guillemots, there were flashes of the art-rock archness of Tom Tom Club and The Fall.
Do The Whirlwind, the impossibly catchy track from their 2005 second album In Case We Die, remained the highlight, but new single Heart It Races showed how far this bunch can go.
