Four-day festival offers a crowd-pulling line-up

Three years on, and O2's beefy festival machine is churning out yet another crowd-pulling line-up of musical heavyweights.
Bands, bands and more bands - including all the chart regulars - are the order of day here, as Wireless makes its bid to be as big as fellow branded festivals Reading and V.
Today's main draw is The White Stripes, as Jack and Meg make a rare festival appearance with their first major plug of new LP Icky Thump. More than 20 bands and musicians - including US rockers Queens Of The Stone Age, Modest Mouse and French duo Air - are set to join them across the festival's four mammoth stages.
Tomorrow's bill is no less rammed: there are sets from Faithless, Mark Ronson and Kelis. But if getting time off work for these day-long affairs is proving tricky, dig out the glow sticks and pitch up on Saturday for Daft Punk, CSS, Klaxons and LCD Soundsystem. Indie kids, meanwhile, would be better suited to Sunday's offering, when Kaiser Chiefs headline with ample support from The Rakes, The Cribs, and Mumm-Ra among others.
It might sound like a lot of stage-hopping effort but take solace in the fact that, since this is no sleep-over affair, you can leave the tents and wet wipes at home. And as far as one-stop fests for the summer go, this is as good as they come.
Today until Sun, Hyde Park W1, Thu and Fri 2pm, Sat and Sun noon, £40, four-day ticket £135 (limited availability).
