The action and direction are superb and the acting good, but the plot is so pathetic it defies belief
Wonderful - beautifully acted and gloriously funny, particularly Simon Russell Beale and Fiona Shaw

Showman: Jared Leto has built a sizeable fan-base
Emboldened by decent record sales and some awards, Jared Leto produced an energetic performance that made you believe a Hollywood actor can become a rock star.
While Keanu Reeves and Russell Crowe bombed when they turned to music, the dandyish Leto has built a sizeable fan-base with his band's second album, A Beautiful Lie.
This was the first of two sell-out Hammersmith gigs, which he described as one of his proudest moments. But perhaps his film career - with roles in Panic Room and Alexander - doesn't offer too much competition.
But Leto has grown into his latest role and the singalong to the band's mawkish new single, From Yesterday, was the first sign that 30 Seconds to Mars could become even bigger.
Although he looked a bit foppish in his mac and pink face paint, Leto threw himself around the stage and into the crowd while the band churned out dramatic rock riffs. There were also some pleasing absurdities such as the ballet dancers during The Kill but this show felt stretched over its 80 minutes and needed a few more big tunes.
Leto vowed to experiment on songs that have now been around for some years, although that really just involved a gospel choir who weirdly attempted to rock out on The Fantasy.
Leto also appeared on the balcony for an acoustic solo slot, which got lots of girls screaming although it was fairly torturous stuff.
But he's undoubtedly a showman and that will serve him well when 30 Seconds to Mars headline the Give it a Name rock festival at Earls Court in May. If he can write some new songs by then, even better.
