An awesome and ridiculous film that leaves you thrilled beyond the point of your natural endurance
2012
Theatre
The show has suddenly become quite wonderful, and the galvanising factor is the terrific stage debut of Melanie C
Blood Brothers
Music
The British pop music industry may be eating itself but if Muse are the pick of what it can offer the world in 2010 then British music is in rude health indeed
Muse
I was smitten by both Gilberts enormous luxuriant moustache and the intelligence and nuance of this highly entertaining play
I totally recommend Babbo to anyone who is looking for really good and traditional Italian food
Always been a fan but never seen them live. I was ecstatic to be part of this epic event. WOW!

Mika is musical Marmite: you either love him or hate him. Since bursting on to the scene with the helium-assisted hit Grace Kelly, the singer-songwriter has treaded the line between inspiration and irritation.
After a year away from the spotlight, he returned to London to headline the final night of the iTunes Festival. Bounding on to stage in white dungarees, black top hat and Clockwork Orange-style eye make-up, Mika looked his usual understated self.
Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) was a funky song about chunky women; Stuck In The Middle highlighted that he could play piano as well as jump up and down on it.
So far, so Mika — but his new material suggested a more interesting direction. Blame It On The Girls was a bouncy bossa nova, while Blue Eyes echoed Graceland-era Paul Simon in its African hi-life guitars.
Throughout, Mika’s voice was outstanding. Though not quite the Freddie you feel he’d like to be, he does possess a soaring falsetto to rival any of today’s queen bees.
If there were still times when you wished he would buzz off (Love Today secured its place in my Most Annoying Songs Of All Time list, and there was really no need to remove his shirt during the encore), then these were forgivable within the context of a hugely entertaining and very energetic show.

Liked your review, but let me say what annoys me.
Every journos constant comparison to Freddie Mercury!
He's not trying to be like Freddie, at all. If he hadn't mentioned his name in Grace Kelly, I'm pretty damn sure you'd all be boring us rigid with Jake Shears comparisons.
Can you all give it a rest now, we get it!
I notice you don't mention that he was singing his new single, We Are Golden, which in my opinion could be the anthem of the summer.
And apart from you attacking my favourite, Love Today, which for me gets better and better, I thought your review was pretty good.
Yes, I too was there Friday night, and think it was the best of his gigs that I've been too so far, and I didn't think anything could top Latitude, or Bournemouth of 2007.
But Bestival is to come yet, so we'll see what happens.
