Fatboy Slim steals the show at South West Four
James Ridgway 31 Aug 2010
Clapham Common hosted SW4 (South West Four) this Bank holiday Weekend with a line up that included Laidback Luke, Pete Tong, Zane Lowe, Fatboy Slim and Salt-n-Pepa.
With names this big the weekend was destined to be epic and (mostly) did not disappoint.
Saturday’s highlight was a blistering set from Erick Morrilo followed by a predictable but solid showing from Armin Van Buuren (the world’s number one DJ).
Sunday boasted consecutively brilliant acts. Salt-N-Pepa warmed the crowd up well and the word’s ‘Push It’ resounded long into the evening.
Radio One DJ Zane Lowe nearly commanded the show-stealing performance of the weekend but Fatboy Slim pipped him to the post. Featuring club classics and some of his older hits, his set lived up to his reputation.
It was a shame that the sound on the mainstage was too low for those standing any further back than the first five rows. Here’s hoping that next year’s PA system is up to scratch.
