£2m for high flying British businesswoman in sex bias case

A British businesswoman has received £2million in one of Australia's biggest sexual harassment payouts.

Christina Rich was the highest paid partner in PricewaterhouseCooper's Sydney office when she claimed she had suffered almost a decade of bullying and harassment.

Her professional prowess earned her a salary of £400,000, yet she claimed her career was blighted by the "boys' club" culture.

Mrs Rich, 43, said that the macho culture prevented her and other women from rising at the multinational.

She claimed one male partner had forcibly undone her bra and groped her breasts. At another work function she claimed that a colleague had put his hand up her dress.

She also said a partner explained her success with clients by saying: "They're talking to your breasts."

Mrs Rich launched her case after a five-week stay in London to care for her sick mother and subsequently left her job. Her allegations were denied by PwC but the parties settled out of court.
