£3bn plan for mega windfarm off Devon

The £3billion Atlantic Array would include 350 turbines.
Devon-based Farm Energy hopes the site 14 miles off Ilfracombe will make enough green power for more than a million homes - 53 per cent of the South-West's domestic energy.
The project would create 1,500 megawatts of renewable power and hundreds of jobs.
Farm Energy is behind the London Array in the Thames Estuary, which will be the world's largest offshore wind scheme to date.
Director Peter Crone said: "Every year, the wind farm would avoid the release of 2.3million tonnes of carbon dioxide - the main gas contributing to global warming - equivalent to more than 5 per cent of the South-West's greenhouse gas emissions."
Power from the wind farm would be channelled through submarine and underground cables to the National Grid.
Devon County Council said: "The wind farm could provide enough energy for all of Devon and there is potential for tidal power to be added later."
Mr Crone said there would be long-term consultations and no planning applications would be submitted for years.
