Broadcaster Vanessa Feltz and poet Lemn Sissay are among those hoping to star in Antony Gormley's giant art project.

He is looking for 2,400 people to take part in One & Other, his plan to put hundreds of members of the public on the vacant plinth between 6 July and 14 October.

A camera will broadcast a live feed online in a sponsorship deal with television channel Sky Arts.

More than 22,000 people initially expressed interest in joining the venture.

Applications can be made online and the first selection draw will be on 1 June.
