Architect and his wife found hanged at their home 'couldn't live without each other'
12 February 2008
An architect and his wife were found hanged at their home in a suspected suicide pact.
The bodies of Harry Tidswell and his wife Jane were discovered at their £300,000 villa after worried relatives contacted police.
Self-employed Mr Tidswell, 63, and his wife of 24 years were described by neighbours in Llandudno, North Wales, as devoted but very private.

They said Mrs Tidswell, who was in her fifties, had been ill and had become increasingly reclusive in recent years.
They said they feared the couple may have resorted to a suicide pact because they could not bear to be apart.
The bodies of the couple, who had no children, were found on Friday afternoon after relatives grew concerned about not having heard from them for a while.
Neighbour Dianne Smith, 65, said: "They were a really nice couple, absolutely dedicated to each other, and kept themselves to themselves."
She added: "They lived for one another. It's possible that one couldn't live without the other."
"They were very private people and liked their cats. Jane would speak and Harry would say 'Hello'."
She said Mrs Tidswell may have been suffering from a painful skin condition.
Another neighbour, Simon Wooding, 49, said: "I saw the bodies carried out. It's horrible. Perhaps he couldn't live without her."
While a third, Margaret Walker, 52, said: "We saw Harry just to say 'Hello' at the end of last week. He just seemed his normal self. It's sad. They were two really nice people."
Mr Tidswell was well-known locally drawing up plans for home extensions. Mrs Tidswell, who was his second wife, was a former shop assistant.
Another neighbour who didn't want to be named said: "It's a tragedy really. You might see them every couple of weeks. He never used to say anything. I heard that she wasn't well.
"It's just a tragedy that there wasn't someone there to help them, really."
A spokesman for North Wales Police said the couple had both been found hanged.
"It was investigated initially by detectives because of the unusual nature of their deaths," he added. "They had passed away before officers got there. It is being treated as a suicide."
An inquest will be held at a later date.
