When it comes to Big Macs, Don Gorske has an appetite for records.
The 44-year-old, who eats at least two Big Macs every day, celebrated his landmark meal with a party at his local McDonald's.
He has eaten the burgers almost every day since May 17, 1972. Yet the 6ft American has managed to maintain his weight at a trim 12 stone.
His habit started as a teenager. Eager to use his newly acquired driving licence, he drove to McDonald's every day to sample the newest menu item - the Big Mac.
At first he just threw the containers into the back of the car. But when friends complained of the smell, he offloaded the packaging and realised he had eaten 267 burgers in a month.
Since that day, Mr Gorske has recorded every Big Mac he has eaten in a notebook. He has missed only eight days since 1980, and can remember the reason for every lapse.
Don Rause, who owns his local McDonald's in Wisconsin, said: 'He's the champ. There's no one in his league. No one even on the radar.' Mr Gorske, who even eats Big Macs for Christmas dinner, said the burger was the 'greatest food ever created'.
His passion helped him clinch the Guinness World record for the most Big Macs eaten.
Lawyers defending McDonald's against claims that its food makes people fat used him in a court case as an example of someone who regularly ate junk food but stayed slim. He also featured in fast food film Supersize Me.

people dont really hear the facts that he works out if they see he has eaten that many and is skinney they think they will to but they dont realize they need to exercise too.

I think this is a great achievement but it portays the image to children that eating fast food will not cause obesity. I am sure he excercises daily and eats a healthy diet, which is not mentioned in any of the texts.
