An Easter bonnet fit for a Queen

It was a fashion statement that could literally put a bee in one's bonnet.

But the Queen managed to attract nothing more than admiration as she arrived at Windsor Castle for the Royal Family's Easter Service.

Her vibrant maroon hat, trimmed with a riot of silk flowers certainly turned heads. In contrast, the Countess of Wessex chose a more streamlined Easter bonnet.

Several members of the family were missing, notably the Prince of Wales, who attended a smaller service in Scotland with the Duchess of Cornwall, making her first public appearance since her hysterectomy last month.
