Cherie shows off her £1,000 handbag - and she paid for it herself
Last updated at 19:22pm on 08.06.07Cherie Blair may not be the most important of the G8 wives - that honour goes to Laura Bush - but when it comes to the G8 handbags she is top dog.
This picture of the G8 leaders' spouses at the big summit in Germany shows Cherie sporting this season's £995 white Eva handbag from top London leather goods shop Tanner Krolle.
"Cherie has long been a fan of Tanner Krolle and she is spot on trend with her Eva, which has featured in our extensive advertising campaign," says a spokesman for the brand.

"Cherie bought her bag only two days ago, which John our sales director delivered personally to Downing Street.
"She has been a customer for a long time, and often buys gifts from us as well. She has given Tanner Krolle items to Laura Bush, for instance.
"Her husband also buys presents for Cherie here. And the Royal family are customers too, as we have a bespoke service, and Princes William and Harry's school trunks for Eton were made by us."
Mrs Blair is known to appreciate the odd freeby, so did she really fork out the full £995 heself? "We don't have to give our handbags away, as Cherie already buys them anyway."
Labour deputy leadership hopeful Harriet Harman said last week she never spent more than £50 on a handbag.

If she did, it'll be a first.

Presumably it was a freebie, given on the understanding that she stand in front of the worlds press clutching it like a smug teenager.

That's a really ugly bag, the leather's all wrinkly and puckered... oh, my mistake that's actually Cherie.

A £1,000 handbag! Doesn't that say all you need to know about New Labour!

She's obviously proud of it, look at her face and body language. She's displaying it rather vulgarly if you ask me. A kind of... "look at me, am I not trendy?" grin on her face. You can't buy class, my dear.
