Hunt for female partner at leading solicitors who had threesome with two young trainees

Office flirting

Christmas legal quiz exposed office flirtations (posed by models)

Partners in top City law firms are expected to share their experience with trainees fresh from university.

But a female partner at one of the country's leading solicitors took that duty to the extreme by having a threesome with two young recruits in the office.

The romp, however, was interrupted - and as a result the senior woman concerned was transferred to an outpost in Asia to avoid any repercussions.

Details of the love triangle emerged in the annual Christmas quiz set by lawyers' magazine Legal Business.

It asks readers to guess the names of colleagues who have engaged in all manner of disgracefulness over the year.

And the list of questions suggests that the law today is less Rumpole of the Bailey and more Rumpy Pumpy at the Bailey.

One tantalisingly asks readers to name the top firm where one secretary hospitalised another after walloping her with a champagne bottle at a party in a fight for the attentions of one of the office's partners.

And a 'leading real estate partner' for one firm is said to have spent so long waiting for a taxi outside a function in Cannes that he eventually hailed a prostitute, got her to drive him to his hotel, paid, then asked her to leave.

At least, that is what he said on his expenses form.

Readers are also invited to guess which leading City partner took time off to save his marriage after discovering his wife was having an affair with a Premiership footballer, as well as which firm fired a trainee after they were sick on a partner at a Christmas dinner.

Legal Business boasts that it is yet to receive a single libel writ despite featuring the saucy quiz for a 14th year running.

Legal Business editor James Baxter said checks had been carried out to ensure the rumours were true, but promised never to reveal the names of the people concerned.

He added: "2007 has seen lawyers earn more than ever with partners regularly taking home more than £1million.

"Our quiz seems to suggest that morality levels in the legal profession are directly linked to earnings, with one decreasing as the other increases."

Makes a change for it not to be a male lawyer!

I can believe all this. A friend of mine is a city laywer and she is a right strumpet. It seems the legal profession is not the learned seat of legal excellence as we might imagine, just a huge drug fuelled sexual free for all - sleeping your way to the top seems very much alive and well in this industry sector...I am thinking of retraining...

Qualifying as a lawyer takes years of hard work, dedication, commitment, debt and other really boring sacrifices. From a purely human point of view it's hardly surprising if we (er.. I mean they) want the payoff in not only financial terms.
