One for the end of the road? Merry Clinton knocks back whisky on campaign plane
Last updated at 16:37pm on 29.05.08
Hillary Clinton took time out from her punishing campaign schedule to enjoy a glass of whiskey with a group of journalists.
The Democratic presidential hopeful was flying back from Rapid City in South Dakota, one of the few states yet to hold its primary when she decided to let her hair down a little.
Her relaxed mood may give rise to speculation she is preparing to concede to her Democratic rival Barak Obama.

A wee dram: Mrs Clinton jokes with reporters on her campaign plane prior to takeoff from the airport in Rapid City

Relaxed: Hillary Clinton could be about to exit the race to become the Democratic Party's presidential nominee
Earlier in the campaign, Mrs Clinton regularly took time out to enjoy a drop of the hard stuff with voters but she avoided informal contact with reporters
Earlier, she took a couple hours out of her not-so-busy schedule for a little sightseeing, driving in her 7-car motorcade up to Mount Rushmore.
Her appearance startled the handful of tourists at the shrine to the presidency on a cold and overcast morning.
One woman approached her and said: “Thank you for running.”
Mrs Clinton replied: “I need your help.” Another, who happened to have a copy of Mrs. Clinton’s “Living History,” handed it her to be inscribed.
As Mrs. Clinton received a briefing on the sculpture from a park ranger, her press entourage pressed in with boom mikes and clicking shutters, but she was in no mood for levity or cheap metaphors.
She brushed off the predictable press questions: “Can you see yourself up there?” and “How about your husband?”
Mrs Cluinton replied: “This isn’t a press event. It’s a tourist occasion. Why don’t you learn something?”
She has two more public events scheduled on Wednesday, at the Pine Ridge Sioux reservation in the afternoon and in Sioux Falls in the evening.

Wow. If you think the Patriot Act was cramping your life, just wait until Congress says it's going to save the Earth from global warming by whatever means necessary: burn food, decrease freedom, limit growth, destroy the economy. The sky is warming! The sky is warming!

I'm not a fan of Hillary (actually, I cannot stand her and her fake persona), but I am absolutely amazed at the way she is being railroaded out of the Democratic race. Obama, the supposed political genius, has not been able to actually win the nomination outright. The race between them is about as tight as a Democratic primary race has ever been. Why should she drop out? Obama has some major weaknesses when one looks at the Electoral College, weaknesses that she does not have. He my draw a ton of votes from New York and California, but he could easily lose in a landslide in the Electoral College.
I suspect there will be some buyer's remorse come October.

Don't quit - quitters never win, and winners never quit - who came up with quit while you're ahead? I wonder!

When you consider we have endured nearly eight long years of leadership which walks all over our rights and refers to the constitution as a "Piece of paper", don't you wonder what would come from anyone who would challenge their own party's rules and regulations? I mean, all rules should be followed by all, especially those who are given the privilege of leading and continuing this once great country's legacy. Emotions can not be worn on the sleeves of a leader.

On the other hand, I fail to see how you can't respect a woman who has shown the strength to forgive and to stand by her commitments, even when it would have been easier and less humiliating to just walk away.
Vote Obama... and lose in November.

Obama?
Clinton?
McCain?
Why? I never thought I would have to choose from among the 3 stooges for a president.
What a lousy election year.

Bad politicians are elected by good people that don't vote.

I struggle to understand why this woman would think anyone would want to vote for her with her record of overlooking her husband's flagrant 'mistakes and lies' whilst in office. And the fact she stayed with him after being so very humiliated to the world. Doesn't actually support her 'truth and honestly' drivel does it?
And what does it say about her character when she can overlook such deceit and lies? Doesn't really say much for her morals either does it?
But plenty about her ambitions.
Vote Obama!
