Elliot Guy who was fatally stabbed in Dartmouth Park Hill

Elliot Guy: 'Making a better life for himself'

The latest victim of London's knife crime epidemic could have been stabbed to death in a fit of jealousy.

Elliot Guy, 27, was allegedly attacked after he innocently enjoyed a dance with an unknown woman at a party in Tufnell Park, North London.

Mr Guy, who became a father just two months ago, was training to be a master carpenter.

He was on a visit home to the capital while studying with internationally acclaimed furniture designer David Savage in Devon.

He leaves behind a baby daughter and his long-term partner, Amy Smith.

A close friend said: 'He didn't deserve this. He had just started a course learning to make bespoke furniture in Devon.

'He had made the tough choice to move away from his little girl and partner to make a better life for himself and his family.

'He was hugely gifted. When he wasn't learning how to hang doors, Elliot was making incredible creations from wood.

'He was such a talented man.'

Mr Guy was stabbed once in the neck early on Saturday while at a party in a flat on the tough Fulbrook Mews estate.

He staggered 200 yards to a busy nightclub in Dartmouth Park, where bouncers tried desperately to staunch the bleeding with clothes and a pillow.

One man, who claimed to have been at the party, said: 'There was a row over a girl - that's all it took - and then this guy was stabbed.

'The person who attacked him was obviously jealous over how him and a girl were dancing together at the party.

'People had been drinking and having fun. It was all OK until this row kicked off.

'He pulled a knife and stabbed him.

'The bloke staggered out dripping with blood and collapsed in the road opposite the flats.

'People were running around him in hysterics trying to help - it was horrific.'

Police said they were keeping an open mind over the motive for the killing.

Last night stunned neighbours said Mr Gui had only been in London to help decorate his mother's house.

They described him as 'one of the nicest boys you could see'.

A neighbour of the victim's mother, who did not wish to be named, wept as she paid tribute to a 'very nice, very quiet boy' today.

Speaking close to the family home in Mortimer Terrace, she said: 'He was so innocent.

'That's why I'm so choked. I can't imagine the pain his family is going through. It's devastating. I watched him grow up.

'He had just finished his studies, he was very skilful. He was one of the nicest boys you could see.'

Another neighbour, who did not want to be named, said: 'He didn't deserve it at all. I still can't believe it, it hasn't sunk in yet. I can't understand it. I feel a cold shiver run through me when I think about it. It's such a waste of life.'

Mr Gui lived in Devon and had recently become a father, according to neighbours.

Mourners leave flowers at the murder scene: Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the stabbing

A post-mortem examination showed the cause of death was a stab wound to the neck.

Friends posted messages on Facebook, with one, from Mark Coughlan, saying: 'My heart goes out to the family of a true friend. R.I.P Elliot.'

Another, from Lee McBride, said: 'R.I.P Elliot Guy, u will b missed mate.'

Mr Gui's death came as police questioned a 16-year-old youth about another fatal stabbing in the capital.

Teenager Frederick Moody died in hospital after being attacked near his home in south London on Thursday.

Today's stabbing happened not far from the scene of the death of 16-year-old Ben Kinsella, whose funeral was held yesterday.

In the latest incident, the Metropolitan Police said they were called to Junction Road at 2.50am and found the victim suffering from a stab wound.

He was taken to the Whittington Hospital where he died at about 4am.

The murder came less than two days after teenager Frederick Moody was fatally stabbed in the city

A post-mortem examination was being carried out today.

Police said: 'We believe the victim had attended a house party near to where he was found.'

They said they were keeping an open mind as to a motive for the killing.

A 41-year-old man, a 30-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were last night released on bail from separate North London police stations.

In Tufnell Park the victim's blood and a pile of blood-soaked dressings were still visible on the pavement where forensic officers combed the street where he died.

A floral tribute left at the scene read: 'To Elliot, I'm so sorry for the loss of a good friend. May you rest in peace. Gone but not forgotten.'

Another tribute read: 'What a waste of a life! Wish I could have known you better! Always in our thoughts. RIP. Joanne xxx.'

A note left with the flowers said: 'Rest in peace Elliott (sic) wish we could have done more for you. Laura xxx.'

Another message read: 'RIP Elliot, you'll never be forgotten. Andrea xxx.'

Meanwhile, police are continuing to question a 16-year-old arrested in connection with the death of 18-year-old Frederick Moody, known as Freddy.

A gang of up to eight hooded youths, some of whom may have had bikes, are believed to have lain in wait for him outside his south London home.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the heart.

Friends of the teenager said he may have been attacked over a minor insult during a water fight at a fair in Holland Park.

One of Freddy's friends, who gave his name as Babs, left a water gun at the scene of the attack last night.

He said: 'The last time I saw him was at the end of this road at around six - he seemed happy.

'We had been to a water fight, along with many others from around London, at Holland Park.

'The next thing I knew was that he had been stabbed.'

No more stabbing anymore! It is time that police clean up the streets forcefully and if there are not enough police for the street take the military. These stabbings become a joke for the whole country. I feel very sorry for the victims and their families.
