Apollo 14 astronaut claims aliens HAVE made contact - but it has been covered up for 60 years

Edgar Mitchell was the Lunar Module Pilot for Apollo 14
Aliens have contacted humans several times but governments have hidden the truth for 60 years, the sixth man to walk on the moon has claimed.
Apollo 14 astronaut Dr Edgar Mitchell, said he was aware of many UFO visits to Earth during his career with NASA but each one was covered up.
Dr Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview that sources at the space agency who had had contact with aliens described the beings as 'little people who look strange to us.'
He said supposedly real-life ET's were similar to the traditional image of a small frame, large eyes and head.
Chillingly, he claimed our technology is 'not nearly as sophisticated' as theirs and "had they been hostile", he warned 'we would be been gone by now'.
Dr Mitchell, along with with Apollo 14 commander Alan Shepard, holds the record for the longest ever moon walk, at nine hours and 17 minutes following their 1971 mission.
'I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we've been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomena is real,' Dr Mitchell said.
'It's been well covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it's leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it.

UFO theorists believe Roswell in New Mexico was the site of an alien crash in 1947
'I've been in military and intelligence circles, who know that beneath the surface of what has been public knowledge, yes - we have been visited. Reading the papers recently, it's been happening quite a bit.'
Dr Mitchell, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering and a Doctor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics claimed Roswell was real and similar alien visits continue to be investigated.
He told the astonished Kerrang! radio host Nick Margerrison: "This is really starting to open up. I think we're headed for real disclosure and some serious organisations are moving in that direction.'
Mr Margerrison said: 'I thought I'd stumbled on some sort of astronaut humour but he was absolutely serious that aliens are definitely out there and there's no debating it.'
Officials from NASA, however, were quick to play the comments down.
In a statement, a spokesman said: "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe.
'Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue.'

I think Edgar Mitchell's personalalty needs to be investigated first before believing any statement. Is the previous comment accurate, is this the type of person that likes to believe certain things & why the only astro to do so. Just like the latest crop if clowns that say man never walked on the moon, Elvis death not real, they think this way cos it's more exiting to them than reality but why would Ed think this way after the life he has experienced. If Buzz Aldrin had said this I'd more likely believe. As I said before, investigate Ed's character first & I know little of him, I certainly don't believe in Gellar. With nearly every house having the tech is has nowadays show me proof. I'm not one of these desperate to believe people but do accept life COULD exist elsewhere.

I know that they exist

Why is it so hard for people to consider that this could be true? What did the first native American think when he first saw the white man? Is there that much of an extrapolation of that idea if you take the assumption that IF they are real they could have technologies WAY beyond our knowledge thus making it possible for them to travel through vast expanses of time/space. People seem to have such small minds on this subject, I really don't see why. I think people are scared of being the odd one out by believing this could be true.

Gordon is happy, he sees extra taxes what with landing fees and the fuel.

It would be utterly arrogant to believe that we were the only sentient life in the universe, however, the chances that another civilisation with massively advanced technology has made the many thousands of light years journey to visit our planet and is watching us destroying it is somewhat far fetched.

Looks like a PR agency is starting to promote the new X-Files movie.

If it happens, it happens - if not, then so what?
Life will still go on. Human beings will still do the things that make them human. Just as "little grey men" if they exist will do whatever it is they do where they come from.
If the twain shall one day meet, then would come the time for wonder, not before when we have absolutely nothing but often wild conjecture to go by.

There are more than trillions of suns in the universe. Some will have planets capable of supporting life, not as we understand it. However life is there. Distance is the problem limiting visits and communications. If they have created faster than light travel, they will have been drawn to Earth to study our life forms. Our radio and television broadcasting would have been the beacon. They would be at a much higher level of intelligence, probably solved war, poverty, and stupidity.

I firmly believe we are not alone and the UFO's and Aliens do exist. I have seen a UFO myself. The government are covering up Alien and UFO's. Hopefully they will see some sense and disclose what they have kept secret all those years. But when it comes to UFO's and Aliens I very much doubt the government and or the Majestic 12 have any sense!!

He's absolutely right, they did land about 1997 and have taken over the Houses of Parliament, with a view to undermining the UK

I think it's stupid to think that were are the only form of intelligent life out there in the Universe. Why would a Dr that's worked for NASA and done a moon walk come out with all this if it isn't true?
He would be faced with being labelled a crank and a nutcase. Personally I believe him because, like Mulder, I want to believe that there is something out there that is much bigger then us. I feel it...and I trust my feelings.
Maybe if we are visited and the world has been shown definite proof of life from another planet, that will turn round the human races way of thinking and prevent our self destruction so that we all learn to co-exist with each other in peace.
With all the reports that have been happening lately and as Neil says, they could well be setting us up for a landing...

Those cosmic rays must have addled his brain.

Edgar Mitchell is well-known as a silly man who believes in nonsense. This has a long history. There are many stories about how naive he is in falling for alien stories and reports. He has even fallen for the magician Uri Geller's parlour tricks. He can be discounted as a kook.

Judging by the sudden spate of UFO/Alien news items, I suspect we are being manipulated to accept a forthcoming landing. The corporate media prepare us in advance for the big reveal. Watch out though: the government will use any and every excuse to increase social control: perhaps they'll try to convince us we're about to be invaded and our lives depend upon being micro chipped and herded into concentration camps.

With a single dessert and just two glasses of wine our bill was kept in check - but the effort of doing so was not much fun
