Victim: Kirsty Wilson was found dead in her Woking home

A mother-of-two found dead in her blazing house yesterday was an executive for luxury car company Mercedes.

It has also emerged that she may have died up to six hours before the blaze.

Police have confirmed the identity of the woman as 34-year-old Kirsty Wilson who is believed to have been murdered.

Images of Ms Wilson released for the first time today, show a pretty blonde at her Mercedes workplace where she was a customer relations manager.

Her partner of four years, Alan Jermey, was detained by Surrey Police's Major Crime Team today for questioning.

Police have declined to give results of a postmortem examination, although the autopsy did give investigators a cause of death.

It is believed that no weapon was involved in her murder.

Ms Wilson's body was found by emergency services shortly after midnight in the lounge of her £450,000 detached home in Greenmeads, Woking, Surrey.

It appears that several fires were ignited in the house. A fire investigation dog found traces of accelerant in the property.

Firefighters rescued her daughters, Alisha aged eight and two-year-old Poppy, after responding to a 999 call from Mr Jermey, 40.

All three were rushed to Frimley Park Hospital, near Camberley, Surrey, suffering from smoke inhalation.

A spokesman for Surrey Police said the children were later discharged and placed in the care of relatives.

One fire investigator said the level of rigor mortis in the body suggested that Ms Wilson had been dead for at least six hours.

Ms Wilson's colleagues at the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Guildford, Surrey, described their shock today.

'We are all very upset about what's happened,' said sales manager Rory Davidson.
One neighbour said Kirsty and Alan 'seemed like just a normal family'.

'There didn't appear to be any problems, or not any that I could see. I'm just very surprised by all of this.'

Another neighbour whose daughter played with Ms Wilson's eldest child, said: 'It's all quite upsetting, you just don't expect this sort of thing to happen down your road.

Probe: Forensics experts confer outside the house

'I had been out with Kirsty and some of the other mums and nothing led me to believe something like this would happen. It is the two children I feel sorry for.'

Neighbours said the couple bought the property, which was surrounded by shrubbery, about four years ago and had added a large extension to the back.

Yesterday a silver Mercedes C Class and a blue Volkswagen car were parked in the driveway of the house, behind the police cordon.

All the windows were open in the property and curtains billowing out of the windows showed no signs of fire damage.

Forensic officers wearing white overalls and face masks were examining the inside of the property with the help of the arson taskforce.

Several bags containing evidence were removed from the property including a blue and white pair of trainers.

My daughters and Kirsty's 2 beautiful girls were at the same childminder and school. They miss Alisha and Sienna (the youngest daughter's name) very much. The kids have not been able to see their friends or their childminder (who they are very close to) since their mother was suddenly taken away from them. I think it is a shame to keep them from people they are close to especially at a time when they really need something in their lives to be "normal"

My older brother was friends with Kirsty from when we were at school.

Kirsty was a caring, level-headed girl whose endearing smile will be remembered by all those she touched.

My heart goes out to Kirsty's family.
May she rest in peace.
