Jamie Oliver's publisher was last night considering legal action after fraudsters cobbled together a book of his recipes and spread them on the Internet.

Penguin Books, which has published two of the Naked Chef's previous books, was trying to track down the source of the document, which has spread like wildfire via office workers' e-mails.

Entitled The Naked Chef 2 and showing a photo of Oliver, 28, chewing an apple, the 122-page book is an amalgamation of his past publications.

Among the 105 recipes are Oliver's Twist and Jools' Bolognaise Sauce.

The 'book' has had office workers scuttling to their printers keen to save the £14 cost of one of Oliver's official hardbacks.

The e-mail claims the book was sent by a Penguin employee, who apparently tried to send it to a friend but instead spread it to computer users all over the world.

A Penguin insider denied it was a marketing gimmick, adding: 'We think this is part of a malicious campaign against Jamie by someone who is jealous of his success and popularity.'Aspokesman for Oliver, who has sold 5million books, said: 'We are not losing sleep over it.'
